Chlorophyll, in a bottle of water
Chlorophyll Water is ultra-purified water with alfalfa-derived chlorophyll and vitamins A, B12, C and D3. Founder Matt Levine started it after years running veggie-centric restaurants in New York. It's on shelves at Whole Foods, Sprouts and Erewhon, and on Faire it sells to chiropractors, day spas, yoga studios and small grocers. “Water kind of sells to everybody,” as Matt puts it.
Stores liked it. Then they went quiet.
Most of Chlorophyll Water's doors come through distributors. Faire was the independent long tail. It sold, but it wasn't where the team's time went.
- Quiet stores stayed quiet. Only about 1 in 5 Faire orders came from stores that had lapsed.
- Nobody asking why. One store had left over a single late delivery.
“Faire, we do a great amount of business, but…”
“Water is heavy to ship, so it's not a priority.”Matt Levine, Founder, Chlorophyll Water, Aug 2026
An AI agent on every store
Chlorophyll Water handed Opener its Faire retailer accounts on September 10. Each store got its own agent, writing on Faire in Chlorophyll Water's name, with our team reviewing every message before it goes out. In nine days the agents reached 250+ stores.
- Asks why a store went quiet. Then answers it, instead of sending a discount.
- Times the reorder. Each agent knows its store's history and checks in when stock should be running low.
- Puts the next product in front of them. Stores carrying one size hear about the other.

No discount ran, and the average order held steady. The lift didn't cost margin. September is usually an ordinary month for the brand, so the calendar doesn't explain it either.
It's nine days. Read it as an early signal, not a trend.
Next up: the distributor accounts
With Faire running, Chlorophyll Water is pointing its agents at the independent stores it reaches through UNFI and KeHE.
The plan of attack will be: get reorders through UNFI. Second would be targeted outreach to retailers within the DCs that we're stocked up in.
